Insurance

(1) Insurance Coverage
  1. All registered participants will be covered by public accident insurance provided by the organizer. In case of any accident during the race, compensation will be handled according to the insurance policy terms.
  2. Participants must follow the course markings, traffic control, and all road regulations. If any issue arises from a participant straying from the designated course or disobeying rules, the organizer may assist in coordination but will not be responsible for compensation.
  3. Please ensure all registration form fields are accurately completed. Any loss of insurance coverage due to incorrect or missing information is the responsibility of the participant.
  4. Participants are advised to assess their physical condition, get sufficient rest the night before, and eat a proper meal at least two hours before the race.
  5. The event provides public accident insurance (all details are subject to the insurance policy). Participants with additional needs are advised to purchase personal insurance at their own discretion.
  6. The public accident insurance covers the insured for third-party bodily injury, death, or property damage caused by accidents during the insurance period, for which the insured is legally liable.
(2) Insurance Coverage Limits
The organizer has purchased public liability insurance for this event. The coverage items and amounts are as follows (subject to the official insurance contract terms):
  1. Bodily injury/death per person: NT$5,000,000
  2. Bodily injury/death per incident: NT$100,000,000
  3. Property damage per incident: NT$2,000,000
  4. Total insured amount: NT$240,000,000
(3) Exclusions and Special Clauses
The organizer has purchased public liability insurance for this event. The coverage items and amounts are as follows (subject to the official insurance contract terms):
  1. Injuries resulting from personal illness or pre-existing medical conditions.
  2. Symptoms caused by personal physical conditions or cardiovascular-related issues (e.g., shock, heart disease, diabetes, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, altitude sickness, epilepsy, dehydration, etc.) are not covered. The insurance only covers injuries caused by external accidents.
  3. Participants with a history of the aforementioned conditions are strongly advised to evaluate their own safety and consider obtaining personal insurance.
  4. If you have experienced any of the following conditions, you are considered high-risk for sudden cardiac death. Please consult a medical professional before participating:
    • Unexplained chest discomfort (tightness, pain)
    • Unexplained shortness of breath
    • Unexplained dizziness
    • Sudden loss of consciousness
    • Hypertension (>140/90㎜Hg)
    • Heart disease
    • Kidney dysfunction
    • Diabetes
    • Hyperlipidemia (total cholesterol >240 mg/dL)
    • Family history of heart disease (e.g., parent or sibling with heart disease or sudden death before age 60)
    • Epilepsy
  5. If participants suffer injury or property damage during the race, the organizer will assist with public insurance claims. However, once compensation is received, or if the case falls under exclusions or is deemed non-compensable, no further claims may be made against the governing authorities, organizers, contractors, or sponsors.
